Back to Top 5 Wednesdays! Top Five Wednesdays started on Goodreads back in 2013. At the beginning of every month Sam from ThoughtsOnTomes posts a topic for each Wednesday and bloggers, vloggers and overall book fans are encouraged to respond with their Top 5.
I was planning to do a winter TBR at some point, so this Top 5 Wednesday topic had perfect timing. I’ve already mentioned a couple of these books in recent pots, but they’re really top of mind for me right now and I’m hoping to get to them by the end of February (which is what I consider the last of winter—even if March can sometimes be just as snowy).
Let me know what’s on your immediate TBR in the comments!
1. The Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden
This just feels like a winter book to me (I mean, look at that cover!), and I know that if I don’t get to it this winter, I’ll won’t look at it again until next one—it’s already been sitting on my shelves unread for two years!
2. Kingdom of Ash (Throne of Glass #7) by Sarah J. Maas
I just reread EOS and did like a Sparknotes of TOD (did not have the patience or interest for it). I’m beyond excited but also terrified to read Kingdom of Ash. Right now I’m like 16% in, so no spoilers please!
3. Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff
I’m actually almost done this one—a reread! I’ve been listening to the audiobook while at work/commuting and it’s absolutely amazing.
4. To Kill a Kingdom by Alexandra Christo
May not have mentioned this, but I’ve recently joined a YA book club! It’s run by one of my old coworkers—I got a new job!—and an hodge-podge of people she knows. So far, it’s been a lot of fun. This is our pick for February.
5. Lucky in Love by Kasie West
I’m in a bit of a Kasie West kick, especially in audiobook format, they’re super easy to listen to while working or doing chores. I don’t need to give my full attention like I fined I do with sci-fi or fantasy audiobooks. I have this audibook borrowed from the library for the next couple days, so I’ll probably give it a listen soon!
