I know I’m a little behind on these, as we’re already three weeks into the new year (gasp!), but I still wanted to post them—I think writing out your goals and sharing them with others is a great way to stay accountable.
Anyway, here are my reading and blogging goals for 2019:
My Goodreads Challenge – 125 books
Okay, so I did not reach my Goodreads challenge last year—which was 140. Based on what I have tracked on Goodreads, I was way off. Honestly though, I probably did read 140 books. I did a lot of random Kindle Unlimited reading and didn’t really track everything. But that being said, I wasn’t really reading YA for a while. This year I’m getting back into YA, blogging and really tracking my books. I think 125 is pretty manageable based on years past.
Finish five series
I have a lot of series sitting on my shelf that I haven’t finished. Within the past year a lot of series I was once super into have released their final book, but due to the fact I wasn’t really reading I haven’t gotten around to the finale. This year my goal is to really make a dent in a lot of the series I have on my shelf that I’ve started but haven’t finished or haven’t even touched at all.
Read at least half the unread books on my shelf
I’m obviously still going to buy new books (even though I’ve run out of room), but I’d also like to dwindle the ratio of read to unread books on my shelves. My goal this year is to make a dent in the unread books I have on my shelf before buying too many new ones.
My one real big blogging goal after how last year went is just to keep blogging and not fall into a rut again. I kind of have a schedule set up for the next month, but we’ll see how I keep to it.
Be active in the community
One of my biggest weaknesses has been keeping active in the book blogging community—whether that’s responding to comments, getting to check out everyone else’s posts, Bookstagram, or Twitter. This year I really want to step it up.
