It’s the holiday season, so to celebrate I wanted to do a themed book tag! No one tagged me for this, but I found it on Read With Sera and thought it was fun. Go check out her site and support a fellow book blogger! Have a great holiday bookworms, I tag anyone that wants to do this!
“All I Want For Christmas Is You”—What book do you want to see under the Christmas tree?
There are a ton of books I’d love to see under my Christmas tree, but I guess I’m going to go with A Court of Thorns and Roses. There’s so much hype around this book, and I feel like I’m the only one that hasn’t read it. Plus, there’s not enough books in the series yet (cough cough Throne of Glass) that I’m going to feel overwhelmed. And it’s like expensive enough that I have a hard time justifying buying it for myself.
“Simply Having A Wonderful Christmas Time”—What book that you have read this year have you enjoyed the most?
This is so ridiculously difficult. Ugh. I’m going to cheat a little and break this down by genre. Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell was possibly my favorite contemporary. I just really identified with Cath. For fantasy I want to say any of The Remnant Chronicles books. My sci-fi pick is definitely Cress from The Lunar Chronicles. And for poetry (the only two poetry books I read) The Princess Saves Herself in this One and Milk and Honey. Okay so that was major cheating, but I just couldn’t pick one.
Elf—What book unleashes your inner child?
The Percy Jackson and the Olympian books for sure. I mention this series a good amount, and I apologize but I just can’t help it. It’s just so good, even though it’s middle grade—which I don’t usually read.
“It’s Beginning to look a lot like Christmas”—Which book has most festive look to it?
I actually featured this book on “Monday Motivation.” That is My True Love Gave to Me edited by Stephanie Perkins. This collection of young adult holiday-themed short stories screams Christmas. Even the naked hardcover is festive, with a star design on the spine and bright red coloring.
The Grinch—Your favorite villain…
So far, I want to say my favorite book villain is Levana from The Lunar Chronicles. Her power and manipulation was just scary. Beyond that, even though I haven’t read Fairest yet, I know she has a really interesting backstory. The best villains are created not born after all.
The Holiday—Name your favorite TWO couples…
Pressure. I’d have to say Percy and Annabeth from Percy Jackson for sure. It’s a classic answer. They’re just best friends for the first five books really, and having that relationship first and seeing them like that made their romantic relationship even more special. Then I want to say maybe Cress and Thorne from The Lunar Chronicles. I love them a lot individually as characters but then together, their dynamic and chemistry is just incredible. They’re so precious. There are a lot of other ones I could name too. I hate having to pick between my babies.
What book would you like to give as a present to your followers?
Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur for sure. I already mentioned this book in this post, but I can’t rave about it enough. I never was huge into poetry, but this collection is so special and really opened my eyes.
