Top 5 Wednesday: Beautiful Book Covers

Top Five Wednesdays started on Goodreads back in 2013. At the beginning of every month Sam from ThoughtsOnTomes posts a topic for each Wednesday and bloggers, vloggers and overall book fans are encouraged to respond with their top five.

This week is supposed to be your top five inaccurate book covers. This means that the cover image has nothing to do with the story, the model looks nothing like the main character, or say the cover is really cheesy but the book is really good. I couldn’t really come up with any of these. I know that I’ve had to think that a book cover is inaccurate at one point or another, but when it came to writing this I blanked. So, instead I decided to to do my top five beautiful book covers. There’s a lot of pretty covers I love out there, but I particularly like these. Let me know what your top five are in the comments!

1. Suicide Notes From Beautiful Girls by Lynn Weingarten

I just bought this book, partially because of the cover—also because of the name, it’s just draws you in really. The cover is very simple, a light blue background and the three matches—the matches are super striking to me though, how they’re burnt halfway down and one is smoking.

2. Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins

This whole series is really beautiful, so it was hard to pick just one book from it. I really like the blue and green ombre effect of Isla. Plus, there’s the little flower detail as well as the gorgeous city skyline.

3. Map of Fates by Maggie Hall

I’m really upset because the dust jacket of my book has a little tear. But anyway, this cover is beautiful. It has one of my favorite things—a girl in a gown. And, the color pink is so deep and beautiful.

4. The Star-Touched Queen by Roshani Chokshi

I feel like I don’t even need to explain this cover. Just look at it. It’s so lush and fits the book and setting perfectly. It makes me want to be in that world. Maya is a queen.

5. The Wrath & The Dawn by Renée Ahdieh

I bought this book for two reasons: the hype and the cover. I just love the red overlay look and the image of Shanzi behind. And then when you open the cover she’s there looking fine and fierce.
