Top Five Wednesdays started on Goodreads back in 2013. At the beginning of every month Sam from ThoughtsOnTomes posts a topic for each Wednesday and bloggers, vloggers and overall book fans are encouraged to respond with their top five.
This week is your top five characters you wouldn’t want to trade places with. Let me know what your top five are in the comments!
1. Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games
If Prim was my little sister, I’d probably volunteer for The Hunger Games as well. But in no means would I survive, hence why I wouldn’t want to trade places with Katniss. I have no wilderness skill, no real physical strength, and in no way stealthy like Fox. I’d save Prim, but I definitely wouldn’t survive.
2. Tris from Divergent
If I were in the Divergent universe I like to think I’d be dauntless—okay I’d like to think I’d be divergent but still. But like with The Hunger Games, I would in no way be able to survive dauntless. Like I’d try—especially if Four was there—but again I have no real strength or physical skill so I definitely not survive.
3. Anyone from A Song of Ice and Fire
Partially because most people die. But, even the people that don’t die have horrible things happen to them, so there’s that. No further explanation needed I feel like.
4. Cress from The Lunar Chronicles
Cress is stuck in a satellite most her life, and this is the reason I’m a little bit torn about if I’d want to trade places with her. I like my alone time. I don’t know if I’d say it’s because I’m an introvert, I think just from being away at college and having a long distance relationship and not the most friends I got used to it. Like even now with my boyfriend and friends in the city with me I just want alone time to relax, watch Netflix, and read. But, I also think being completely alone for years and years on a satellite would drive me crazy—I can only re-watch Gilmore Girls so many times.
5. Maya in The Star-Touched Queen
I just read this book and loved it. I loved Maya, but I don’t think I could be as strong as her emotionally. She lives in her father’s harem all her life being hated and mistreated by his wives because of her deadly horoscope. She deals with it really well, and it makes her stronger in the end. I think it’d eventually just tear me to shreds.
