The Goodreads Book Tag

Lauren @ Wonderless Reviews did this tag—you should all check her out, she’s great—and I just had to do it. I’m such a Goodreads addict.

breathe sea breezeWhat was the last book you marked as ‘read’?

I’ve been breezing through the Sea Breeze series by Abbi Glines. Okay that was cheesy. The books are kind of cheesy and guilty pleasure-esque. I don’t really mind though, I’m just looking for something short and fun while I get through my review-writting rut.

What are you currently reading?

Technically I’m currently reading A Feast for Crows—but I haven’t picked it up in I don’t know how long. I’m also about a good thirty pages into Broken Hearts, Fences, and Other Things to Mend by Katie Finn. I was super excited to find out that’s actually a pen name for Morgan Matson. I’ve read Since You’ve Been Gone and The Unexpected Everything by her and loved both.

What was the last book you marked as ‘TBR’?

I recently marked Amy & Roger’s Epic Detour as tbr. Like I said I just read a couple other books by Morgan Matson and loved them—they’re so summery—so I thought I’d pick up another. Plus, I watched an interview she did with some BookTubers and she was talking about the characters in this book and I just wanted to get to know them.

reflection thorn of the white roseWhat book do you plan to read next?

The next book I plan on reading is Reflection: Thorn of the White Rose. I loved the first two books and the author was kind enough to send me Thorn of the White Rose as an ebook. I’ve been a little behind on writing my reviews so I’m just trying to catch up before reading this.

Do you use the star rating system?

Yes I do. As you can tell from my reviews I use the star rating system ranging from one to five—and halves are totally fair game.

Are you doing a Reading Challenge?

This is my first year doing a reading challenge and I’m having a lot of fun keeping track of what I’m reading. My challenge is one-hundred books for the year and I’m currently twenty books ahead of schedule, having read sixty eight.

Do you have a wishlist?

I don’t have a physical list. Sometimes I just leave books I want from let’s say Amazon or BookOutlet in my cart. I just don’t buy them at the moment probably because I can’t afford it. Besides that, I kind of just have a mental list of what I want to buy and read next.

winner's crimeWhat book do you plan to buy next?

I have a couple of books I want to buy soon. I want to get the second and third books in The Winner’s Curse trilogy. I also really want to buy the rest of The Heroes of Olympus series. It all just really depends on what I read next.

Do you have any favorite quotes, would you like to share a few?

I have a ton from Perks of Being a Wallflower, here are a few :

  • “So, I guess we are who we are for alot of reasons. And maybe we’ll never know most of them. But even if we don’t have the power to choose where we come from, we can still choose where we go from there. We can still do things. And we can try to feel okay about them.”
  • “So, this is my life. And I want you to know that I am both happy and sad and I’m still trying to figure out how that could be.”
  • “We accept the love we think we deserve.”

And then I have a ton of favorites from Peter Pan:

  • “Dreams do come true, if only we wish hard enough. You can have anything in life if you will sacrifice everything else for it.”
  • “The moment you doubt whether you can fly, you cease for ever to be able to do it.”
  • “To live will be an awfully big adventure.”
  • “Never say goodbye because goodbye means going away and going away means forgetting.”
  • “So come with me, where dreams are born, and time is never planned. Just think of happy things, and your heart will fly on wings, forever, in Never Never Land!”

Who are your favorite authors?

This is so tough—Jane Austen, Sarah Dessen, John Green, Morgan Matson, Marissa Meyer, and Stephen Chbosky. There’s definitely more but I love all the books by these authors.

Have you joined any groups?

I am part of the Top Five Wednesday group if you couldn’t tell from all the posts I do.

What do you think that Goodreads could do better?

I need to be able to give half-star ratings. Like desperately.

Yay! I’m glad you did this one 🙂 I loved reading all your answers! I really need to read the Peter Pan book because I love the movies and the concept of the story so it’s about time I actually read the book that inspired it all, haha. I love all the quotes you chose so much! Also congrats on being 28 books ahead! That’s awesome 😀
