So every week Rae from the Bookmark Chronicles poses a bookish question. If you want to check out the challenge click the link. I will be posting my answer every Thursday.
THIS WEEK IS: do you read biographies, autobiographies, or memoirs?
Just some distinction, a biography focuses on the whole of someone’s life while a memoir focuses on a specific event or time period.
I’ve read all three in the past for school, but I’ve never picked one up of my own volition. I think if I had to choose I’d read a memoir. I just find them a bit more story-like in therms of structure, writing, and themes. Or maybe it’s that I had to read The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin before and was bored to death—turned me off of the genre.
Let me know your answer to this Thursday’s this or that in the comments!
